Form with Function: Current Standards in Tissue Preservation and Implant Site Development

About this Seminar

**This theory class is a prerequisite to the Alveolar Ridge Preservation and Augmentation with Absorbable Materials Hands-on Course CEC 31.

Historically, alveolar ridge preservation and development have focused on volumetric changes with little tissue quality. The aim of this presentation is to discuss possible advantages, disadvantages, and realistic short- and long-term expectations of traditional methods of alveolar ridge development for implant therapy and to discuss potential advantages and limitations of new techniques and materials designed to maximize tissue quality. At the end of this presentation, clinicians should be able to know and understand:

  • Rationale for new materials and techniques

  • Advantages and disadvantages
